When I attempt to run rvplayer on alice-whacker, SIPB's
IS linux-athena machine, it will load the site say "buffering"
and then make a loud popping noise and die with "General
Error. An error occurred. For more information please see Error
1 at http://www.realaudio.com/help/errors" That error basically
says "this is a generic error, if you can reproduce it send a bug
report." However, looking around on the site shows that RealPlayer
7 beta is the new version of realplayer and it is available for
this architecture. The version we are running is realplayer 5
(7 is also available for solaris 2.6 and 2.7). Upgrading may
actually solve this problem. Are we planning on upgrading our
version of rvplayer anytime soon?
