What were you trying to do?

What's wrong:
It appears that many packages that replicate functionality
commonly found in lockers gets installed automatically.
This is a bad thing because it is unreasonable to assume that
workstation maintainers will deal appropriately with athena-
	specific issues.

Particular problems I have encountered include:
	* "/usr/bin/lynx" is installed, which does not respect
$HOME/.lynx/.lynxrc and presumably lacks certificate support.
	* "/bin/vi" is really vim in a halfhearted compatibility
mode. In my biased opinion, a more vi-like vi should come
up when vi is typed. nvi (/usr/bin/vi on *BSD) would be my
	  clone of choice.
	* Terminal badness. The lynx in infoagents looks at
	  /usr/lib/terminfo for terminal descriptions. /usr/lib/terminfo
	  does not exist.
	* /etc/inputrc breaks vi-mode in any readline-using program,
	  including /bin/bash, /bin/athena/bash, and
/afs/sipb/project/bash/bash.	It should (IMHO) be deleted
	  outright.

What should have happened:
