If your workstation is in the lists below, it is listed as a member of
the ``friendly testers'' groups. If so, please update it at this
time. If not, please ignore this message.
To update your workstation to the 6.1A test release, allow your
workstation to deactivate, then do the following:
login on console as root
run "attach -n bldge40test-vssys-61A bldge40test-vsusr-61A"
or "attach -n bldge40test-rtsys-61A bldge40test-rtusr-61A",
depending on whether your machine is a vax or rt
run "shutdown now for update"
run "/srvd/update_ws"
run "/tmp/reboot"
The mailing lists "vs-testers" and "rt-testers" were previously
redirected to point to the "bugs" list, since we were not running a
test release. They also have been going to two discuss meetings on
menelaus by those names. If you wish to add yourself back to the
mailing lists, you may do so; however, until the next update on the
mailhub, mail will only go to the discuss meetings.
A version of the release notes for 6.1A are available outside Dan's
door, and mostly (but not exactly, I'm afraid) correspond to what we
are providing at this time.
Please send any bug reports (with the software or with the update
procedure) to "vs-testers" for vax-release problems, or "rt-testers"
for RT-release problems.
