In talking to less-than-clueful users who are trying to register for
their accounts, I get the frequent complaint along the lines of "I put
in my password and then it goes back to the password screen over and over."

Now, I'm pretty sure that what this actually parses to is "I put in a
stupid password and then it went to a screen with some very small
writing telling me what was wrong with the password, underneath the
same "Registration Applet" text I've been seeing the whole time and a
big obvious button saying "Continue". So I mostly ignored the text
and clicked on the Continue button, and then it brought me back to the
password screen.

(It's also remotely possible that there's a bug in the applet such
that it skips this page for some users, but I've been unable to really
verify it)

Anyway, this is mostly a request for making the "Your password needs
to be longer" type of messages in ENORMOUS BRIGHT RED LETTERS or something
more obvious. At least, something more obvious than the Continue
button, which attracts users with a high gravitational force.
