Hello.
Your bug report wasn't very specific; did you select 8-bit mode before
you logged in? The following message explaining this issue should
have appeared the first time you tried to start Autocad:
Notice to Athena Autocad users
On Athena 8.3, the default graphics mode on Sun Ultras is 24
bit. This is incompatible with Autocad's display and if you run it
in this mode, you will get error messages like:
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
...
FATAL ERROR: ADI display driver is not running. You can get
around this by changing the X display to 8 bit mode. To do this,
you will need to log out, then log back in, selecting "Other
options" and "Restart X in 8 bit mode" from the Athena login
screen. You will need to log in this way each time you want to use
Autocad on a Sun Ultra. Please send questions/comments to

If this does not solve your problem, please write back with more
information (any error messages you receive, or detailed description
of what happens) and we'll investigate further.
