This is a workstation configuration problem: you've lost lines from
/etc/group. Copying it off /srvd should fix it. (You might want to
save a copy of your existing /etc/group first.)
We've seen this a few times (although not since 8.3 first went out
that I know of) but don't know why it happens. Any insight you can
give on weird things that might have been going on on your machine
would be good.
