[17235] in Athena Bugs
sgi 8.3.17: the "g77" in gnu locker has the following problem

What were you trying to do?
compile a fortran program on SGI using g77.
What's wrong:
the error message returned was:
athena> which g77
athena> /mit/gnu/arch/sgi_65/bin/g77 hello.f
ld32: FATAL 9: I/O error (-lg2c): No such file or directory
collect2: ld returned 32 exit status
the olc consultant and I emailed gnu@mit.edu before but
no response was ever received.
What should have happened:
the compilation should yield no error message and the execution
of a.out should be fine, of course!
