What were you trying to do?
Change root's password
What's wrong:
danw@antharia:~> su
Password:
danw@antharia:~# passwd
Running local password-changing program for danw.
What should have happened:
It should have said "Running local password-changing program
for root."
Failing that, it should have said "Running Kerberos
password-changing program." It certainly should not have
made the local/remote determination based on a different
concept of what user I was than it was using to determine
by username.
