In theory this might work under IRIX if you applied this patch.
No guarantees.
If someone ever tests it then they should submit it.
Our build doesn't seem to define __svr4__ on IRIX. When, out of
curiosity, I tried defining it syslogd failed to compile (admittedly,
I didn't try rebuilding all of zephyr with it, but I don't think that
would have helped).
