The release notes' solution to users wanting their old scan format
is to have them copy one of the /usr/athena/etc formats over, then
edit it by hand; it seems that it would be more straightforward to
supply a /usr/athena/etc/scan.addr directly.
Also, following the release notes' instructions worked but leaves
a highly annoying tendency to capitalize hostnames. I'd come up
with a fix but when I tried to play around I learned the truth
of the mh-format manpage declaration that
Format strings are designed to be efficiently parsed by MH
which means they are not necessarily simple to write and
understand. This means that novice, casual, or even
advanced users of MH should not have to deal with them.
