What were you trying to do?
Use X resources to change the way xss-button invokes 'xss'.
What's wrong:
I read the manpage:
> xss (class Command)
> Specifies the screen saver driver to run. Same as
> the -xss option.
What should have happened:
The manpage should have said that the resource string for specifying the
screen-saver driver was "xscreensaver" instead of "xss". (This is what a
reading of the source code revealed.)
Also, it would be really nice if the button-pixmap were
user-configurable. (In the manner of the SIPB xscreensaver.)
And, finally, once the bugs are worked out of this program, I seriously hope
that you submit it for inclusion in the master distribution of jwz's
xscreensaver package.
