xmitdir in mitdir locker doesn't work with 8.3

In my .environment file I "add mitdir" and in my .startup.X file i
have the line:
xmitdir -fg black -bg LightSkyBlue &
My SPARCstation mozart updated to 8.3 since I last logged in, and
now I can't start up the xmitdir program:
08:15 xmitdir: Command not found.
08:15 [7] 3037
08:15 [7] Exit 1 xmitdir -fg black -bg LightSkyBlue
In the previous release I used to get a warning that the structure
of the mitdir locker wasn't correct (no arch subdirectory?) , and
this new release problem considers that a fatal warning.
The program does start if I type
[mitdir] athena%sun4bin/xmitdir -fg black -bg LightSkyBlue
The people who have bits in this locker are:
[mitdir] athena%fs la
Access list for . is
Normal rights:
system:gnetwork rl
system:anyuser rl
jis rlidwka
tom rlidwka
hoffmann rlidwka
wade rlidwka
mbarker rlidwk
One of the above should probably be asked to fix this so that the
locker conforms to the current convention.
