What's wrong:
Attempting to use any GET form fails miserably. Attempting
to load
http://www.altavista.com/cgi-bin/query?pg=q&kl=XX&q=%22this+is+a+test%22
Returns:
Search Error
htsearch: couldn't open file http://www.altavista.com/cgi-bin/query?pg=q&kl=XX&q=%22this+is+a+test%22?c? t' Lr' Hp' D!
What should have happened:
The correct URL should have been accessed and returned.
