qd code in install kernel broken

I was using an installation tk50 to boot a gpx, and it got to the
miniroot boot, and panic'ed with a protection fault. This is the
bootkit stuff modified as instructed therein to use a local server.
John Kohl suggests that the qd code in this kernel may be broken.
Please look at it, and get back to me with whatever you find. I need
to update this machine.
