I have experienced a problem with the software wrapper (in the slw
locker) in attempting to apply it to the latest Framemaker Release
(5.5.6). When I use it to wrap the main Framemaker binaries (for Sun
and SGI), the wrapping process appears to proceed normally. But when I
try to launch the wrapped binaries (using the usual launch script), nothing
happens (no launch, but no error message either).

We had not previously wrapped Framemaker so I don't know if the problem would
have showed up earlier if we had. At the moment the wrapped applications are
in the sgi-desktop locker- trying "add sgi-desktop; maker" will illustrate
the problem. Framemaker should launch, but doesn't. The wrapped binaries are
in /mit/sgi-desktop/distrib/sun4x_56/bin/bin/sunxm.s5.sparc/maker5X.exe
                                                           /maker5X.exe.des

and /mit/sgi-desktop/distrib/sgi_62/bin/sgi.irix.mips/maker5X.exe
                                                     /maker5X.exe.des

The uwrapped versions of the binaries, renamed with a .hide extension, are
in /mit/sgi-desktop/Athena/private/sun4x_56 and
/mit/sgi-desktop/Athena/private/sgi_62. (These are normally not used after the
wrapped binaries are generated, but are saved for reference).

I will need to use this locker for something else in the near future. I am
planning to ask ops for a temporary location I can copy the entire tree to,
so that people can take a while to look at it.

                                                Alex
