****What were you trying to do?
Open a document (Photoshop 3 native format)
****What's wrong:
The program quit. This was repeated for several documents.
****What should have happened:
It should have opened, of course!
****Please describe any relevant documentation references:
The following message apeared in a pop up dialog box:
could not complete your request because of a program error
Then the program quit.
Next, the following message appeared in the term I used to open photoshop:
Caught signal at PC 0xee4b6930: SIGSEGV referencing 0x8 address
not mapped.
Next, the following message appeared in the console:
06:20 winlock: lock timed out on process 15647
This message was the same (excluding the hexdecimal(?) numbers and
process IDs) for several attempts to restart photoshop. Removing
photoshop's configuration files (so that they would be regenerated when
photoshop started up) had no benificial effect. This result was also
found for several graphics in non-photoshop formats and in new graphics.
Oddly, photoshop works fine if I log in without customizations, even though none of my cusotomizations have anything remotely to do with photoshop.
Any ideas?
