It seems the author of fm2ps decided that the only way you could
get an error 3 was if you didn't have fmbatch in your path. As it turns
out, you could also get this error if the mif2gifprintsettings file the
command needs can't be opened by frame. In this case, the printsettings
file in the consult locker was a Frame 3 file, which 5.5 apparently
can't open. Regenerating the printsettings file has made the utility
happy ; it should work after tonight's release of the consult locker.
Oh, in the future, you'll probably want to report bugs in
programs in the consult locker to consultdev@mit.edu. bugs@mit.edu is
intended more for reporting problems in programs in the Athena release,
and while I happened to notice your report, it's not guaranteed that any
of the consult locker maintainers will be keeping up to date with bugs.
