Here's what I put in the case log (and sent to boojum and facdev)

in release-77, transactions 1020 (24 June 1997) and
1224 (Feb 1998) both recommend phasing out xinfo and
moving completely to web-based alternatives.
the current problem appears to be the result of old
links in the xmit locker, causing the script to think
this is not a supported platform. I.e., there is no
sun4x_56 in the arch directory.
I would suggest that facdev complete cleaning up the
xmit locker, redirecting users to the web-based alternatives.
Greg's mail:
I certainly hope that everything will still be cc'd to bugs, since I
don't use Casetracker.
I will make sure that I cc bugs from now on.
> What's this reference to case logs?
It's sort of disappointing that Casetracker can't keep track of mail
replies by itself without a reference number.
In fact, it can track mail replies as long as the subject lines are
unique. the case number merely disambiguates.
As far as access goes, after checking, apparently the person
originating the case and the people on the consultants list have
access to the case. I had not realized that the case log was not
available more generally, but with copies of email sent to bugs this
should not be a problem (they are available via the discuss meeting).
