To clarify a bit...
The errors are problems with the Inventor example Makefile's, not
with our installation. I reported them to SGI, and they have
acknowledged it as a known problem. Their solution to the unresolved
references, unfortunately, is to edit the Makefile's to add the missing
libraries. The "quickstart" messages from ld are informational only.
