I believe you are absolutely correct. Apparently the fresh systems from
Sun -- some of them at least -- are coming in set to disk: b
Hotline is supposed to know how to fix this. I think it is just
boot disk:a
and the system uses that as the default next time. However, you
may want to check with Miki on this.

:) set like this, the machine will fail to reboot on an 'init 6', etc.

:) so that it will try to boot from the root partition, and never
:) try booting from the net
