Hi,

This has been a bug in VS 55T. I don't remember seeing it
reported so here goes:

Typing logout to your login window, when you have a few other
xterms lying around, tends to yield incomplete removal of all of the
entries from /etc/utmp. I believe that this happens because more than
one xterm dies simultaneously. Here is an example (with the non-ascii removed):

ttyv0gmbelaus
aZ"

User jamarroq logged out last night. He has no processes
running on the system. However, the machine didn't deactivate overnight
because /etc/utmp wasn't empty.

This is a very repeatable bug.
