running tellme root on a dialup

I just did `tellme root' on a dialup.  It responded:

  Warning: This is a private workstation. It may not have the Athena
  root password.

  The Athena root password is XXXXXXXX.

I understand the point of the first two sentences, and that dialups
are not normal public workstations.  But it's also not a "private
workstation" in any ordinary usage of the term "private".  I think
some other locution should be chosen, say "This is not a normal public
workstation."
