What were you trying to do?
I was trying to read Athena help, as found in Dash menu:
Help/Help on Athena/On Line Help. To start "On Line Help", I
answered "yes".
What's wrong:
I was prompted to accept Netscape's licence agreement. Yuck.
What should have happened:
*Mosaic* should have started instead of Netscape.
Netscape should be optional for these who are willing to accept
Netscape's terms of licence, typing something like:
help -netscape
Or, the 'help' could automagically figure out which browser
to use by sniffing around in user's home directory to see
whether ~/.netscape is present or whether ~/.mosaic-* files are
present.
I am aware that I could use text-only version of help:
help -tty
if I am not willing to use netscape. Nevertheless, I believe
mosaic is a good enough default browser so that users who do
not use netscape do not necessarily have to recourse to
text-only version. If not, that is, if some netcape-only
features are used in Athena help texts, then such cases are
clearly bugs as well.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
none
Thanks for your consideration.
Sincerely,
