The update apparently fails to install proper bootblocks (or so I'm guessing based on fact that booting the machine fails with a "can't find bootblocks" error). I have the update log for the machine in question if someone wants to look at it, but I suspect it'll be mainly of academic interest. If you have any Suns still at 7.7, be *SURE* to update them to 8.0 before going to 8.1. -wrong mike
