did you use eject /floppy?
I've found that sometimes the disk is not seated completely. This
means that the system doesn't see it, and it won't eject. Two
possibilities: (a) push the disk in and wiggle it a little, sometimes it
will seat (b) use the paperclip eject (the tiny hole under the drive
towards the back of the drive).
Third, and the reason you should report this to hotline -- the sgi
seems to trap dust and dirt in the floppy drive. it may be that the
crud in the drive is keeping the disk from seating correctly, which
makes the system think there is nothing there.
Thank you for using Athena.
