netscape java problems

Hi this is mark silis with athena consulting. We are having
problems with the netscape startup script. The Netscape command
and the netscape-3.01 command are working correctly. The normal
comand netscape, starts up netscape but java does not load correctly
you get the following meesage if you try to load applet
Unable to start applet can't find java_301 in your CLASSPATH
.....
....
current value of CLASSPATH
/afs/athena.mit.edu/user/m/v/mvsilis/.netscape/plugins/:/mit/acro/nsplugins.....
