I noticed bart-savagewood (8.1.9) was at a constant load average of 1
while the machine seemed idle; turns out it was runaway netscape process:

That's the only process on the machine owned by user gutnik. I asked him and
he couldn't think of anything special he'd done, though he might have
logged out without quitting netscape.
I attached with gdb to netscape and found it looping around in X:

I went to the 5th frame and ran "finish" and found it didn't return even if I waited
close to a minute. All the functions called from wait_for_response() *did* exit,
however.
I don't know if this is likely an X bug or something else.
I gcored it and run adb on the core and was surprised to get a much-abbreviated trace:

dbx on the same core file seems to give arguments, but not symbols. (below)
Altogether frustrating. Probably no one cares about Navigator 3.x anyhow,
but on the off chance someone does, here's your bug report.
I wonder if there's a dbx bug here, btw. Sure seems like (and an adb bug).
