Type and version: SPARC/Classic Update
Display type: cgthree
What were you trying to do?
telnet to a more standard 8.1 machine to see if a bug was a local
problem or not.
What went wrong?
; telnet bart-savagewood
...including Athena's default telnet options: "-ax"
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

my hostname appears to be lowercase `infocalypse', both by
`hostname' and /etc/athena/rc.conf. The core dump is in
~yandros/tmp/core.telnet.solaris. Please tell me when I can remove
it.
I get similar results from `/usr/athena/bin/telnet
{charon,opus,bloom-picayune}', but not if I try to connect to localhost.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Yeah. hacking /etc/athena/version so that the version string reported
is `Update' is annoying. the last 5 lines of /etc/athena/version are
included here for your edification:
