This is actually a bug with both the test release and the production
release at MIT...
/dev/fd/ does not appear to be populated. As a result, you cannot do
such interesting things as:
diff <(command 1) <(command 2)
assuming you are using a shell that supports this (eg. bash). These
types of features rely on the use of /dev/fd/*, which appears on any
vanilla Solaris installation (2.3, 2.4, 2.5, 2.5.1) but not on the
Athena systems.
