Bill opens bug reports with Sun on major issues, but it's a lot of
work, so we don't generally do it when the effort required doesn't
justify the benefit derived from a fix.
Anyway, as people have pointed out, this is actually more of an SGI
issue in practice. Irix starts rpcbind before inetd as well, and has
the problem that the Athena inetd starts late in the update process,
plus it has the complication that essentially all native network
services are run by /etc/rc2.d/S30network, so we can't use ordering in
rc2.d to start a service after the network is configured and before
rpcbind.
