The problem that you had with telnetting to dizzy sounds
like it may be the known group problem in login/xlogin that
happens if you are in any local groups on the machine or if your
grplist in hesiod changes between logins to the machine and the group
file has not been cleaned up in the interim. You can fix this problem
when it occurs by running a cron job to clean up the group file
periodically or somehow ensuring that reactivate gets run at least once a day.
