eject
or
eject /floppy
What's wrong:
mediad was not running
What should have happened:
mediad should have been running, so that
eject or eject /floppy worked

There have been a number of olc questions about this.
The following works whether mediad is running or not:
eject /dev/rdsk/fds0d2.3.5
