What's wrong:
If you dial in (or telnet I think) to a sun with TERM set to
vt100, zephyrs come out with "$<2>"s everywhere the style
changes. So "foo @bold(bar) baz" would show up as "foo
$<2>bar$<2> baz" (with `bar' and the first `$<2>' in
boldface).
If you use vt220 emulation instead of vt100, this doesn't
happen (which is why I'm assuming it's not zwgc that's
broken).
