The most likely cause of your problem is that you have modified your
.cshrc file such that it does not source the global cshrc file. The
software in Athena release 8.0 depends heavily on some lines in the
global cshrc file which set the XUSERFILESEARCHPATH and
XFILESEARCHPATH environment variables.
If this is the case, then please be aware that you're on your own and
shouldn't bother us with unanalyzed bug reports. As the comment says
in the default .cshrc file:
# WARNING: If you revise this .cshrc file, you will not automatically
# get any changes that Project Athena may make to the system-wide file at
# a later date. Be sure you know what you are doing.
If you are using the default .cshrc file, then please say so, so we
can have a closer look. I've tried running xmh using a test account,
and I don't have any problems.
