The SGI in question was showing the blue root screen with the cursor
in the middle, so jhawk tried killing the X server multiple times,
with no visible effect. I logged in remotely and noticed (this is
only a partial listing)

Killing off all the Xlogin, nanny, and axdm processes and then
restarting axdm seemed to fix things. This is the second time I've
seen this SGI get into this state (where it has a lot of Xlogin's
running).
