What were you trying to do?
Using the Exceed 4.0 X Server on a PC under Windows 3.1x, we are
unable to login to machines running Athena 8.0 using the RLOGIN
protocol. This procedure works fine for Athena 7.7X.
Note that we have a number of quasi-private Athena workstations
here at the Computer Resource Labs that allow remote logins
from (only) the people listed in the /etc/passwd.local file.
What's wrong:
The X session software seems unable to negotiate sending the
username and password to the rlogin daemon on the remote host
(the Athena workstation). A remote session is never started.
What should have happened:
The X session software should have initiated an rlogin session
with the Athena workstation, which involves getting tickets
and running the contents of startup.tty, then spawned an
xterm using the PC's X server as the display.

None.
