Toehold seems not to kill off the X server under some circumstances;
my impression is that it has to do with people listed in /etc/utmp
when someone logs out of the X display (i.e., xterms on different
displays, serial lines, etc).  The problem is that the machine then
stays activated (with X server) indefinitely.

Someone should look at the code that decides when to nuke the server,
and figure out what's going on....
