As you know, this was due to PO9's problems.
Nevertheless, it looks like inc was not as graceful as it should have
been in terms of correct behavior.
Corruption of a single message should not have resulted in corruption
or confusion of later messages.
Corruption of _any_ message should not have led to deleteing the mail
from the PO server without explicit user approval.
inc's behavior should have a serious looking-at (and movemail to, if
it suffers from any of the same oddities); perhaps put it on some
UROP's todo list...
