Not quite sure.  Let's see: I had the source code files loaded in emacs,
and they were fine before compiling.  Then, after compiling, I looked through
the files again in emacs and they were corrupted.  I don't think the files
were corrupted on disk until I unknowingly resaved the source code files after
they were corrupted.  One interesting note - the corruption always occurred
at the end of the files.  The corruption was mostly of the form that lines
(or parts of lines) would be missing randomly.
