Sometimes when I type quickly in text fields under Netscape from the
infoagents locker under Solaris, it misses characters I type. This
problem used to happen with Willow back when we built it with a
particular version of Motif 1.2. (Bruce Lewis may remember this.)
There was a patch to the TextField widget and Text widget that corrected
some sort of race condition or incorrect coding. (Isolating the bug
here was made more difficult (and more memorable) because we had
incorporated the patch in our source, but hadn't built binaries with
them when I was bit by the bug.
Is there some contact with Netscape that we can exercise to tell them
build Netscape with Motif 1.2.3 or LATER when using Motif 1.2?
This nastiness has caused me to spend a week thinking my Sunsolve
account was turned off, when in fact, my password wasn't being correctly
registered in the text widget!
