I don't know about afs admins, but there is popular program in the
conult locker, "lastlog", which uses vos.  Many users ask why vos
doesn't work.

In addition, vos is also useful for helping users.  They might want to
know, for instance, when their last backup volume was created.  vos is
the only way to do this.

This would be adequate, and I do this.  Unfortunately, very few users
or even consultants know to do this.

Because users treat it as a general purpose platform, regardless of
its intent.  Walk through the w20 cluster someday and count the number
of users running sgi-specific software.  It will usually be small.
