I've noticed that sometimes when I try to telnet into athena from
home (I live off-campus) athena would sometimes logme out during my
session. My wife and I would be zephrying each other and then suddenly
her connection would just die and she would get logged out. I've
experienced similar problems. It doesn't happen all the time but it's
enough to be annoying. There is no termination message of any kind.
The connection just ends and I don't even get the "pasta" prompts, so
I have to dial in again. The dialup server with which this has happened
appears to be random (primavera and bolognese are 2 that I remember for now).
As for the hardware I'm using it's a Global Village Teleport Gold II and I'm
using a PowerMac 6100/66. I would like to know whether other people have been
having the same problems or is it my modem.
Thanks
RK
