Well, if you do "help()" it actually will give you help. I think that
the man page should say that, though, rather than just saying:
On-line documentation is available through the help func-
tion. An X11-based help system is available through the
help.start function.
In the examples at the bottom of the man page it does say:
help.start() # starts X11 help window showing all S-PLUS functions
but I think it would be better if it told you how to get help more
clearly and in a more noticable part of the page (and if it gave you a
short, understandable message if you just did "help" :-) )
