Subject: Frame 4.0 crash on printing
Customer Contact Number: 48637
Platform: Sun SPARCclassic, SPARC 5
O.S. Solaris 2.3
Frame Version; 4.0
The problem:
Frame cannot print a simple document which consists of a single blank
page and a Right Master page with an epsi image.
I had originally thought that this was a variation on the "epsi image on
first page causes problems" bug, but it appears to be more complicated.
I know have two documents, one which originally included more text and
graphics, and one which was built up from an empty document (Portrait
template). They look the same to a naive Frame user, but the pared-down
document crashes Frame when you try to print a single page to a file,
and the built-up document prints fine. Obviously there is some
difference.
I don't know if you can do anything about this bug since it is Frame 4
on Solaris, but I wanted to report it for completeness. If you would
like a copy of the two documents and/or the core file, please let me
know and I'll upload them. I'm curious as to what the difference is
between the two documents so that we can avoid the problem in the
future.
Thank you,
Dorothy Bowe
