If anyone can come up with some reasonable code for machtype to fix
this, that would be great. Or concludes that grabbing a couple of
libraries from sysinfo is the only sane option, as it may be. (I
trussed a sysinfo -show model which resulted in 150 system calls
potentially attributable to that operation.)
