We have some people trying to send jobs to print servers in lpd protocol from
broken clients. PC/TCP is a recent example, where for some reason it sent
over a cfA file claiming that the data file was raster image ('v' control
character). It wasn't, but the lack of an appropriate filter for the 'v'
control character causes the lpd to core dump. This is quite an annoyance
for whomever is taking care of the printer, and could be used for
denial-of-service vandalism.
