What were you trying to do?
I was Using Xess.
What's wrong:
I've noticed this on several systems (RSAIX, Sun, DEC). Sometimes, while I am
running Xess, I lose the ability to click on other windows. I cannot, for
instance, raise a window that is behind the Xess window or any other window.
I can use all the mouse functions within a window (I can still click on
menu bars), but I cannot raise, lower, move, or resize windows. I cannot
iconify or de-iconify windows, either. This is really annoying because I am
about to lose some important notes I wrote in EZ. I iconified it a while
back, and I have not saved the file, so it will be lost when I logout, since
I cannot de-iconify it to save it!
The only thing I can do is logout then log back in, which is really annoying.
This does not always happen, only sometimes. I would think that you guys would
get this complaint often, since Xess is the main spreadsheet on Athena. Is
there something I can do to stop this from happening?
What should have happened:
Well, obviously, running a program should not ruin the xwindows system.
