Use octave (add octave, octave &)
What's wrong:
Characters do not get echoed to the screen.
What should have happened:
I should have been able to see what i typed.
Please describe any relevant documentation references:
The octave man page said to send mail about bugs from within
octave, but i am not sure if this is a local problem or an octave
"feature".
