We periodically re-synchronize our AFS protection database. This is different than the continual Moira updates as changes are made to lists. The periodic sync starts almost from scratch in building the protection database. Such a synchronization was done a few weeks ago. Perhaps you were added manually to the protection database initially, and that change was lost when we re-sync'd. Currently, we use a program written by Richard Basch to preserve special protection database entries such as KERBEROS list members and special groups. These special entries are unsupported. The program was written (I think) and is used only as a courtesy. Do not count on it, though it is likely to continue to being used in the near future. Any bugs that may exist in that software or in our procedures for using it are likely to remain.
