It's impossible to get a telnet connection that is encrypted but
unauthenticated, as near as I can tell.
Using 'telnet -x' still gives me
...including Athena's default telnet options: "-ax"
And telnet -Kx is the same as telnet -K. I can't figure out a way to get a
connection that is encrypted but gives me the login banner, and I don't see
why it shouldn't be possible. The manpage doesn't say anything about
requiring authentication to get encryption, and even then it should be
possible to authenticate just enough to get the key and then not use that to
start executing my dotfiles...
